Welcome

Hello and welcome to the Democratic National Convention! I intend to make this a daily account of my activities during the convention. I am a first-time delegate to the national convention and I am excited to be your representative. A few things you should know about me:

1) I can't wait to nominate Senator Barack Obama to become the next President of the United States,

2) I am excited about representing African-Americans, women, educators, and Coloradoans at the DNC,

3) I am a native Coloradoan and a proud CU-Boulder graduate -- twice,

4) I am a proud member of the Denver Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and

5) I love teaching because I think it is a very rewarding and honorable profession.

The students, faculty, and staff at Metro State are truly amazing and I am glad to be in a position where I can educate and inspire you to take an active interest in the welfare of your country by voting in the November 2008 election! Come along with me as I delve into the great unknown....the Democratic National Convention of 2008.

I will be working during the convention and will have limited time to peruse various news outlets to follow what is happening. I will definitely check this each day to catch myself up. I'm as excited today as the day you told us in class about you getting to go! Have a blast!

I am already having a blast after the first day! I may just explode by Wednesday when we actually nominate him (smile).
